Prime Minister Imran Khan performed the Groundbreaking of this 38.3 kilometers long project. The 6-lane dual carriageway project has been awarded to FWO.

It will originate from Banth (N-5) near Rawat and terminates at Thallian (M-2) after crossing Chakbeli, Adyala, and Chakri Road. The project will address traffic problems in the twin cities' urban areas and also significantly curtail travel time and cost.

Chief Minister Punjab, Federal Minister for Interior, Federal Minister for Aviation, and other dignitaries attended the ceremony.
